Our perspective on this property

Om Beach Resort is JLR’s gateway to Gokarna — one of the most spiritually and naturally significant towns on the Karnataka coast. The resort sits on a forested hillock on Om Beach Road, about 5 km from the famous Om Beach which traces the shape of the Hindu symbol Om. JLR provides transport to the beach as part of the Gokarna Package.

Gokarna is different from Karwar or Dandeli. It is ancient — the Mahabaleshwara Temple here is one of the holiest Shaivite shrines in South India. The beaches — Om, Kudle, Half Moon, Paradise — are among the cleanest on the Karnataka coast.

The resort has Konkan-style AC cottages originally built for a Danish fishing project team — spacious, with a large bedroom, living area and bathroom. The swimming pool is a distinctive facility. The Gol Ghar dining has a sea view and the Kane fish fry here is something guests write home about.

Our honest advice: this is an older property. We advise requesting renovated rooms when booking. The location, food and overall value for a Gokarna trip are excellent. Call us and we will set the right expectations before you book.
