Our Perspective

Our perspective on this property

K Gudi Wilderness Camp is the most remote and immersive experience in the JLR portfolio — and that is precisely why it attracts a very specific kind of traveller. Those who have been to Kabini and Bandipur and want to go deeper, quieter, further into Karnataka’s wild.

Set inside the BRT Wildlife Sanctuary at BR Hills — the unique point where the Western Ghats and Eastern Ghats meet — K Gudi offers something genuinely different. The hilly terrain means safaris wind through undulating forest trails with sweeping views. The Soliga tribal community — one of Karnataka’s most ancient forest peoples — lives here and K Gudi guests can visit their villages. Power runs for limited hours by design, and there is no TV. This is intentional.

The guests who love K Gudi most are those who understand that the point is not the room — it is falling asleep hearing a Sambar deer’s alarm call from the valley below, and waking to bird calls at dawn.

All accommodation at K Gudi is non-air-conditioned and has attached bathrooms. Travellers who prefer four walls may prefer the main-building room categories, while Log Huts and Tents offer a stronger nature-surrounded feel. One night includes two Jeep safari sessions; two nights include four. K Gudi is also particularly rewarding for birding, with naturalists available to guide guests. For senior citizens or guests who want to minimise walking, request accommodation close to the dining and safari departure areas. Liquor is strictly prohibited on campus.
