Our perspective on this property

Bhagawathi is one of JLR's five smaller, more rustic camps, and it should be booked on those terms. This is a basic nature camp deep inside Kudremukh National Park, not a resort — expect simple accommodation, no air conditioning, and limited public transport connectivity. In exchange, you get a genuinely wild setting: golden grasslands, sholas and evergreen forest at the catchment of three major rivers, with strong in-camp birding and herping.

One practical point worth knowing before you book: the Kudremukh Peak trek is not included in the stay package and is booked separately through the Karnataka Forest Department's own Aranya Vihaara portal. We can help you coordinate the timing of your stay with a trek permit, but the permit itself is arranged directly with the Forest Department.

Getting here also needs a bit of planning — public transport to the camp itself is unreliable, so most guests arrange a taxi from Karkala or Kalasa. Call us and we'll help you plan the logistics properly.
