Anejhari is one of JLR's five smaller, more rustic camps — and it should be booked with that in mind. This is not a resort with a pool and air-conditioned rooms; it is a basic nature camp set right inside Mookambika Wildlife Sanctuary, with the Souparnika river flowing alongside. That trade-off is exactly the appeal for the right guest — genuine, undisturbed forest, without the polish (or the price) of JLR's larger properties.

The camp's signature draw is its Butterfly Trail, with a striking range of species on view, plus guided nature walks and a night trail for spotting nocturnal wildlife. It also sits close enough to Kollur to combine a stay here with a visit to the Mookambika Temple, and the trek up to Kodachadri Peak — Karnataka's 10th highest — is a genuine highlight for anyone willing to make the climb.
