This 2-day KSTDC hill station tour departing from Mysore covers Nanjangud, Bandipur Tiger Reserve, Ooty, Doddabetta Peak and the Ooty Botanical Garden — ideal for Mysore residents or those adding Ooty to an existing Mysore trip.
Day 1 begins at Sri Srikanteshwara Temple in Nanjangud — one of Karnataka's most important Shiva temples on the Kabini River — then passes through Bandipur Tiger Reserve with the possibility of spotting elephants or deer along the Mysore-Ooty highway before ascending to Ooty Lake and Botanical Garden. Day 2 covers Doddabetta Peak at 2,637m, Karnataka Siri Horticulture Garden, 9th Mile Shooting Point and a tea garden photography stop before returning to Mysore.
Departs every Monday and Thursday at 6:45 AM from KSTDC Office, Hotel Mayura Hoysala, Mysuru. Returns Day 2 evening.

What to know before you choose this tour
Ooty Toy Train is not part of this tour
The Nilgiri Mountain Railway / Ooty Toy Train is not included and cannot be fitted into this fixed KSTDC conducted itinerary. Travellers for whom the Toy Train is essential should plan a different Ooty stay.
Bandipur is a forest drive, not a safari
Keep your camera ready for elephants or herds of deer, but sightings are never guaranteed. The coach travels on the main road through the forest; it does not take you on an interior wildlife safari.
You may sit out a difficult sightseeing stop
At Doddabetta, the gardens or other stops, travellers who do not wish to walk or feel tired can stay back in the bus and rejoin the group afterwards.
Choose it for convenience and value
This tour makes most sense when Ooty is an extension to an existing Mysuru holiday and you want a relatively affordable, organised two-day visit. Choose a private trip if your priority is complete flexibility or a relaxed Ooty stay.
