About this tour

This 5-day KSTDC coastal tour from Bangalore covers Jog Falls, Gokarna, Colva Beach, North Goa beaches, Mandovi River Cruise, Dona Paula, Old Goa churches and Goa temples by AC Deluxe Coach. Operates October to January only.

Day 2 visits Jog Falls (253 metres, India's highest plunge waterfall), Gokarna Mahabaleshwara Temple and Colva Beach. Day 3 covers Vagator Beach, Fort Aguada, Dolphin watching and Calangute Beach followed by a Mandovi River cruise. Day 4 visits Dona Paula, St. Francis Xavier's Church in Old Goa, Sri Mangeshi Temple and Shantadurga Temple before departure.

This KSTDC circuit is best suited to travellers who want an economical conducted tour covering Jog Falls, Gokarna and a range of Goa sights without having to arrange transport and hotels independently.

It is not a slow Goa beach holiday

The itinerary is built around scheduled sightseeing and fixed coach timings. Travellers looking mainly for long beach days, luxury accommodation or a relaxed self-paced Goa holiday are better served by a private customised trip.

Understand the four-night pattern

Although the tour is described as 4 nights/5 days, Night 1 and Night 4 are overnight coach journeys. Hotel accommodation is used on Nights 2 and 3.

Gokarna combines temple and beach time

The programme provides time for the scheduled temple visit as well as some beach time at Gokarna. As with the rest of the tour, travellers need to follow the allotted timings rather than expect an open-ended beach stay.

Who should consider a private Goa holiday instead? If your priority is extended beach leisure, watersports, luxury hotels or the freedom to change plans during the day, a private customised holiday will usually suit you better than a conducted KSTDC circuit. Once the coach returns to the hotel for the night and the next morning's reporting time is given, travellers may use the intervening evening time independently and return in time for departure.

What to know before you choose this tour

Two hotel nights, two overnight coach journeys

Night 1 is the overnight journey from Bengaluru and Night 4 is the overnight return journey. Nights 2 and 3 are the hotel stays, so travellers should be comfortable sleeping on the coach on the first and last nights.

Activities and sightseeing charges are extra

Where the itinerary offers activities such as dolphin watching or a Mandovi River cruise, travellers choosing to participate pay the applicable activity or sightseeing charges separately. These are not part of the base package fare.

Wash-and-change stop after the overnight journey

After the overnight coach journey, KSTDC provides a stop at Sagara/Shivamogga for wash and change. A hotel room is provided for a short duration to each family separately before the tour continues with the day's programme.
