Talacauvery on Brahmagiri Hill is the sacred spring from which the Cauvery River originates. The Kundike (sacred tank) at the hilltop fills from an underground spring and the overflow becomes the Cauvery. Every year on Tula Sankramana day (mid-October), the spring floods dramatically at a precise moment — drawing thousands of pilgrims who believe bathing at this moment grants liberation. The hilltop offers extraordinary views of the Coorg landscape and the river beginning its journey to the Bay of Bengal 765km away.
