The property has 17 rooms across two blocks — Gandhi Nilaya (heritage building, deluxe rooms with heritage character and balcony views) and the Gandhi Nilaya New Block (standard rooms). A restaurant and bar provide meals. A children's playground and garden are on campus. Critically: check-in must be completed before 6:00 PM — the access road to the hilltop closes in the evening. Plan your drive accordingly.

Nandi Hills — Bangalore's Hilltop Escape
Nandi Hills (Nandidurga) rises 1,455m above the Deccan plateau — Bangalore's closest hill station, 60km from the city. It was the summer retreat of Tipu Sultan, who built a fortress on the summit, and subsequently a favourite of the British who developed pathways, gardens and the road up the hill. Two ancient Shiva temples — one at the foot and one at the peak — give the hill a sacred dimension alongside its scenic one.
The Cloud-Sea Sunrise
The defining experience of staying at Hotel Mayura Pine Top is the sunrise. Nandi Hills is frequently above the cloud line at dawn — the sun rises over a sea of white cloud stretching to the horizon across the Deccan plateau, with the hilltop emerging as an island above it. This experience is only available to guests who have stayed overnight — day visitors cannot reach the hilltop before the clouds dissipate. Walk from the hotel to the sunrise viewpoint in 10 minutes.
Tipu Sultan's Summer Retreat
Tipu Sultan used Nandi Hills as his summer capital and built fortifications on the summit. The remains of his fort are visible near the hotel. The hilltop also has two ancient Nandi (Shiva's bull) shrines — Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple at the foot of the hill is one of the most significant Hoysala-era temple complexes in the area.
Hang-Gliding
