Mayura Phalguni River Resort at Pilikula is the most distinctive property in the KSTDC Mayura chain — set on the banks of the Phalguni River inside the Dr. Shivarama Karantha Nisargadhama eco-park in Mangaluru. It is the only KSTDC Mayura property with dedicated Ayurvedic treatment cottages — offering wellness therapies alongside standard river-view accommodation.
The resort has suites, river-view cottages, AC deluxe rooms and Ayurvedic treatment cottages. The cottages have panoramic views of the Phalguni River and, uniquely, the approach to Mangaluru's Bajpe Airport — guests on the balcony watch flights take off and land against the river backdrop. The eco-park campus setting means the resort is surrounded by forest, bamboo groves and the sounds of the river.
This is a relatively newer KSTDC property — better maintained than older Mayura hotels, with mostly positive reviews on cleanliness and location. The riverside setting, forest atmosphere and Ayurvedic wellness option make it unlike any other KSTDC property.

Pilikula Nisargadhama — named after the legendary Kannada author Dr. Shivarama Karantha — is a large eco-tourism complex in Mangaluru with a biological park (zoo with rare species), botanical garden, heritage village depicting Karnataka's traditional architecture, science centre and water park. The resort is inside this campus, giving guests access to the eco-park environment in the mornings before public entry.
Phalguni River
The Phalguni (Gurpur) River flows past the resort — the river and the green forested banks create a peaceful setting quite different from the busy Mangaluru city. The river view from cottage balconies includes the Mangaluru airport approach path — an unusual and scenic combination of natural and urban backdrop.
