Every state has their own historical locations and they differ depending on the culture and religion. However, Karnataka has 609 ancient and historical monuments that draw in crowds of tourists.

Aihole is a historical area itself since it was the first capital of Chalukyas during which more than 125 various temples were built in different designs. The top attractions in this city are the temples, including Lad Khan, Huchappayyagudi, Huchimalligudi, Durga or also known as Fortress temple, Meguti Jain, Ravanaphadi and many more.

Arsikere can be found inside the district of Hassan and is famous for their production of coconuts and the Malekullu Tirupathi hill, which is constructed with 1300 stairs. Some of the famous temples that are located here include Lakshmi Ventkaramana Swamy, Kalameshwara, as well as the Nagapuri Fortress.

Lakshemeswhar is a town that specializes in agricultural trading that can be found in the district of Gadag. This town houses the Someshwara temple along with the Jain temple called Ananthanatha Basadi and the famous Shanka Basadi, which is also known as Sahasrakuta Jinalaya.

Srirangapatna is a town in the Mandya district and is located near Mysore, which is surrounded by the Kaveri river to make this town into an island. The most famous temple in this town is called Ranganathaswamy temple, which is one of the top centers for the Vaishnavite pilgrimage.

Yedeyur is also called Yediyur and is a small village located in Tumkur district. This area is one of the top places for the pilgrimages of the believers of Lingayat. Samadhi, which is also known as Siddalinga Shivayogi's tomb, one of the 15th century saints of Lingayat, is located here.
